Eastside Ride

Jeff and I are definitely Leewarders on Oahu, as made obvious when we left our Wesside Bubble a few times over the past few days.
Several of our friends visited from Kauai, creating opportunities to venture into town and the East several times. On Monday, we wanted to take one of our friends to a nice beach on the Windward coast. We didn't have an exact beach in mind, but somehow ended up at both of the Kaneohe base gates. After many U-turns, we got to Kailua... Beach... Park... I think? I dunno, we settled on some beach in Kailua. It was a holiday, so the beach was super-crowded, but gorgeous nonetheless. Its ironic that we hung out more with some of these friends on Oahu, than we did on Kauai! Anyway, it was wonderful to spend time with all of you visitors and see more of our lovely Oahu.

Summer

It's summer and I'm kinda-sorta on vacay (I have to work part-time during breaks). Guess what happens on my first day of break? I got the stomach flu... followed by a sinus infection. There were a few days in between my illnesses that I actually felt okay; I'm grateful for those days. Jeff and I have been busy with drama rehearsals, simplifying our life by getting rid of stuff around the house, and catching up on errands/doctor appointments.
We've had a few visits from out of town friends. It was cool hanging out with Sherry from Kauai and the Katohs from the Land of the Rising Sun. We're looking forward to more visits from off-island friends soon! If you are one of those friends- can't wait to see ya.

Niece Kayzia

Congratulations to Manolito (Jeff's bro) and Mohala! Here's their sweet little girl, Kayzia, who arrived a little over a month ago.

Piano Sisters

Serions, Orive, and Locquiaos- oh my! Jeff recently had a photoshoot of these spunky sisters and longtime friends of mine when the Washington branch of the Locquiao family visited Oahu. This musically talented family has voice teachers, piano teachers, and guitar players. Rich used to jam with Uncle Mike all the time back in the day. Thank you MeriElsaMyraLori for the fun eve! Miss ya "Gee"/Cara, Levi, and baby Jadey!

Cupcakes, Cotton Candy, & Goat!

It's that time of the year again... graduation time!!! Time for leis, Pomp and Circumstance, caps and gowns. And, if you are fortunate enough to attend a preschool graduation, then you'll have the joy of indulging in cupcakes (with princess rings!), cotton candy, and goat... Um, not "kalding" to eat, but the Three Billy Goats Gruff, this year's theme. All I can say was that the ceremony was super-duper cute: the kiddies sang, danced, and performed for a huge crowd. High fives to the teachers and staff for an excellent program!

Paris jamming the KAZOO! This was my fave performance of the night: the band did the song "Brand New Key" by Melanie. It gave me flashbacks of cruising in my roller skates in the 80's.
