Apples to Apples

Our dear friend JoAnn visited from the mainland. It was great to hang with her and the other Ewa Beach gang. We played a round of Apples to Apples... which left me with scary memories of flying monkeys and clowns.

Getting Along

A few (rare) quiet moments that our furry kids are actually sitting together peacefully.

Roaring 1920's

Jeff wanted to get our vintage on and take some 1920-esque photos. We searched high and low for fitting outfit pieces (thanks Abe for lending the hat) that would make us look like we were back-in-the-day. A big roarin' THANKS goes out to Annalicious for being our enthusiastic photog, for driving us to three different spots (can you guess where these locations are?), AND for filling her trunk with tons of awesome props... from wine glasses, tea cups, a metal tea kettle, a cute lil tambourine, a basketful of bright green apples, flowers, a guitar, and MORE! She also brought a portable iPod player to play lindy hop music! Thanks Anna- we had lots of happy memories =) To see the rest of the pictures, please go to Jeff's site at

More ZoeWee =)

We've had Zoe-Wee for about a month and she's slightly bigger now... about 2 pounds. Here's some post-nap, pre-bath pictures.

Meet Baby Zoe-Wee

Jeff very graciously allowed me to get a puppy. We adopted this baby girl a few weeks ago.
She's a Morkie (Maltese-Yorkie) and Jeff named her Zoe-Wee. His first choice was Bell.
(Get it? "Taco... Bell!")
How is Taco dealing with her? At first he was being a sulky snob towards her, but he is finally accepting... well, tolerating... her presence. I don't blame Taco for being annoyed. Zoe-Wee is a hyper-energetic ball of fluff who likes to beat up Taco. We'll post some videos soon so you can see what we're talking about!

2011 Drama

Neither Jeff or I had background involvement in any drama. Therefore, this drama involved a huge learning curve for us. We enjoyed drawing close to our fellow cast/crew members, developing skills we previously never had, and were deeply grateful and humbled to be a part of the entire experience. What struck us both was the immense amount of work, sacrifice, and commitment involved behind the scenes. All the effort was well worth the result: spiritual education and encouragement. We were privileged and humbled to contribute in a small way to this fine endeavor. Things that make you go "Awwww"

Taco & the Babies

Good food + good friends + good fun

Jen visited from Maui recently, giving us a great excuse to go out for some yummy Thai food.

Seeking & Finding Beauty

Jeff and I spent the last day of my summer break at Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens. It was Jeff's first time. We packed lunch, had a little picnic, and strolled the grounds. Here are some of the flora and fauna that we enjoyed.

Lanai Ninja

Jeff and I arrived home one day to find this mama cat and her three kittens on our lanai. The kittens were a few weeks old already so she must have given birth somewhere near our unit, then brought her babies to our lanai. Unfortunately, the mama cat got sick (we suspect poisoning) and we had to bring her to the humane society. We've been caring of the babies until the shelter has room to take them. The orangey-grayish one is a ninja! We tried to barricade part of our lanai to keep them contained, but she always found ways to escape.

Greens & Blues

Like Jeff's tie? It was a thrift store find & only cost a buck!

(*Thanks and props to Rich for being our last-minute photographer*)

I Love You For Ewa... and Ewa and Ewa and Ewa...

Last minute photoshoot in Ewa, which is one town over from Ewa Beach.
What is the difference between Ewa and Ewa Beach?
Well, Ewa is older, which is why it is referred to as "Old Ewa."
Ewa Beach is closer to the beach and has a beach park, which is referred to as
Ewa Beach Beach Park.
Ewa has Varona Village.
Ewa Beach has Ocean Point. I mean, Ocean Pointe. (Don't forget that final "e"!)
Ewa has a 7/11.
Ewa Beach has a 7/11, but with ghetto people loitering outside.
Ewa has a Zippy's... with a drive-through!
Ewa Beach has a Burger King, Taco Bell, McDonald's... with drive-throughs!
Okay, I better stop now.

Congrats to Timmy!

Yet another youth that I've known since he was a kiddo has graduated! Congrats mi hermano! His photoshoot really showcased his personality. To see the rest of Tim's GQ poses, check out Jeff's blog on

Wedding Sample Pics

Here are some pics from recent weddings that Jeff shot. I really liked the idea above: The couple had a picture of a tree outline and their guests put their thumbprints as "leaves" on the tree, then signed their name near their print. It was a really artsy alternative to the traditional guestbook. For more wedding ideas, check out

Waikiki Aquarium

Jeff's friends and their keiki visited from the mainland, so we met up with them at the Waikiki aquarium. I haven't been there since my high school days, eons ago. Here are some vids of the cool sea creatures we saw.
Visit Modern Twist Photography for more pics of the aquarium and the Rosa family.

Coordinating Doggy Decor

When your doggy is the same color as your carpet, there's a good chance that you might step on him. It is always a good idea to get your doggy its own designated bed. Here's what we found for Taco- I love that it matches our curtains and carpet. (Yay, Ross!)
