What do you do on a late night in Kauai? You do this:
Who said Kauai has no night life? We party like rock stars here all the time!

Not really... We took a detour to Fun Factory on our way to Foodland, so Jeff could spend his 3 bucks of change from McD's.

Fun factory... It's like the pre-school version of Dave & Busters.

Look what my lovely Love won for me:

Um, the bracelet, not the lychees. The colors remind me of Fruitloops cereal... or the the Very Hungry Caterpillar book. It's like a pearl bracelet from Maui Divers, except it has more colors than white, black, and chocoate.
(On a side note, a friend gave us a big bag of lychees today. Soooo gooooood.)

Randomness

A few weeks ago, I visited my future workplace to check out the campus and meet some of the staff. Mean while, Jeff dropped me off and went to find the location of an upcoming photoshoot, which was a secluded beach. While there, he climbed up a tree and took a shot:

While he was perched in the tree, this happened beneath him
(hit the play button to watch the video):

I guess someone will be cementing soon. So much for protecting the 'aina!

Later, Jeff picked me up and we went to check out the shops in Kilauea. One of the store, Kong Lung had really cool home decor items, like this wooden flower vase:
I took a picture of it because Jeff and I are going to try to duplicate the design. He already made a few versions. Anyway, soon after we saw this vase, I spotted none other than Jennifer Aniston standing a few feet across from me. She was shopping with a few other ladies. I wasn't sure if that was her, so I whispered to Jeff to look. While he was looking at her, one of Jennifer's friends caught him looking. The rest of the time we were in the store, her friend stared us down. No one was making a fuss that she was around and I was too shame to take her picture... But, here is a picture of a bird that was outside of the store that Jennifer Aniston was in!
Then, Jeff and I had a spontaneous picnic at Anini.

Arizona Iced Tea looks kinda like beer, huh? Or... shishi... (Jeff's words, not mine!)
The weather was perfect and the view was beautiful. Oh, and no one came with a shovel and bucket to steal sand, so that was good. Protect the 'aina, folks.

The End.

"Shave ice, so nice!"

"Shave ice, so nice!... Shave ice, so nice!"
I remember a truck that would drive around Ewa Beach blaring those lyrics along with a shrill tune. Well, I don't know if four words actually qualify as song lyrics. "Shave ice, so nice!... Shave ice, so nice!" Once I heard that song, it was stuck in my head the entire day. Anyway, these pictures reminded me of that song. Our fave spot for a cool treat on a hot day is the Hee Fat General Store. Its the least expensive amongst the several shave ice spots in the area. Of course, its not Mastsumoto's or Ice Garden... but heyyy, it provides some icy refreshment when we are craving frozen yogurt, which is sadly non-existent on the Garden Isle.

Club Panda

Leave it to Jeff to use his photography skills to make Panda Express look like a nightclub. The only picture I took above is the one of my rings. I shoved it on a takeout box and called it art. We eat at Panda's when we want a quick meal that is a notch above drive-through. I like to eat their Honey Walnut Shrimp and pretend I'm eating a home-cooked meal. Mmmm.

Ironic

Genki is the new Ninja

I turned into a sushi monster a few months before the wedding and ate Ninja sushi all the time. There is no Ninja here, so Genki is the closest place (within a reasonable price range) that can satisfy my sushi cravings.
